Trustmark Corporation started to make a name as a banking institution in 1889. Growing its market base and its products and services, it successfully built a statewide banking system in Mississipi. A century later, in 1999, Trustmark went into the insurance industry, expanded its market base onto Tennessee in 2001, then to Florida in 2003, and to Texas in 2004. This year 2013, it has moved onto the Alabama market.
