Oxfam America: Working to Build a Just World Without Poverty

Oxfam America, one of the latest to join DiversityWorking's list of prestigious diversity company members, is part of an international confederation of 17 members that started in Oxford, England in 1942.
Just like the original Oxfam founded in response to a humanitarian need at the time, Oxford America was started by a group of volunteers in 1970, also in response to a humanitarian crisis brought about by Bangladesh's fight for independence.

From its founding until today, Oxford America has remained steadfast to its commitment to addressing issues of injustice and poverty, and the set of core values that has informed our work. For its mission of
“creating lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and social injustice,” Oxfam America, an equal opportunity employer, works with a team of professionals dedicated to the fight against poverty and social injustice.

Oxfam believes its people are its greatest resources; each individual plays an important role in eradicating poverty, in solving famine, in righting what is wrong. Oxfam's commitment to excellence in its work is likewise reflected in the comprehensive package of benefits the organization offers its dedicated staff, which includes health, dental, vision, life insurance; disability coverage, retirement among many other benefits.

Aside from its full-time employees from a diversity of backgrounds, talents and skills, Oxfam affiliates works with over 3,000 partners in more than 90 countries, employing staff in a wide range of posts. At the same time, the company takes in volunteers and interns who are able and willing to make a difference in the world.

Indeed, Oxfam America is a great place to grow your career while at the same time, help fulfill the vision of a just world without poverty through the creation of just solutions.
